Red Bull Formula 1 to roar into Belfast this November
9 Oct 2018
Formula 1 will be back on the streets of Belfast next month when it welcomes the Red Bull Racing team for another high-octane show in front of thousands of spectators on Saturday, 3 November 2018.
Motorsport legend and F1 driver, David Coulthard will once again deliver the Red Bull F1 Showrun experience, demonstrating the power of an F1 car, up close and personal in the city centre. The affable Scotsman will give motorsports fans a brief taste of the adrenaline rush of Formula 1 on the streets around Belfast City Hall.
Speaking about the event, Councillor Deirdre Hargey, Lord Mayor of Belfast said:
“The Red Bull F1 Showrun promises to deliver an unforgettable and deafening spectacle of sound and speed both for fans and newcomers alike, whilst putting the Red Bull Racing F1 car through its paces expertly driven by 13 time GP winner, David Coulthard. Back in 2010, the Red Bull Racing team made their inaugural visit to the City, wowing a large and expectant crowd and again we are delighted to welcome this event back to Belfast, which will be open to all, free of charge and a unique opportunity to experience Formula 1 at close quarters”.
Kicking off at 8.00pm in front of Belfast’s City Hall, this FREE event will feature David Coulthard performing numerous tricks and spins at speed along with some other two and four wheeled surprises for spectators.
In order to ensure as many persons as possible have an opportunity to experience the excitement, Red Bull will also position large media screens at key positions in the surrounding streets.
Throughout Saturday afternoon, the car will be on display within the grounds of City Hall from 12 noon and fans are encouraged to visit the garage and get a closer look at this feat of modern technology.
