Social media
Social networking sites allow people to share information with each other and let organisations, such as the council, send out key messages to people who choose to receive our updates.By following us on Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or YouTube, you can find out about our latest events, news, jobs and tenders. You can also contact us and send us any questions you have about council events or services.
There are also lots of chances to get involved - for example, our Facebook page has photo galleries and discussion boards to use, as well as an events calendar with details of upcoming events in Belfast.

Digital television
You can now get basic information about council services through your digital television if you use Sky or Virgin, or access the same information on your Wii, PC or mobile phone by using the web address www.lookinglocal.gov.uk/belfastcitycouncilThere is currently a Local Call Rate charge for accessing Looking Local through DirectGov on Sky, although this may be withdrawn in favour of Freephone in the future.
To use the digital television service, Sky users should press the Interactive button, choose DirectGov, press 'select' on the welcome page and choose #1 - Local Services. Virgin Media users should press the Interactive button, select News & Info and then select Looking Local.
Web on the move
You don't have to be near a PC to use this website or many of our new features. Instead, you can also access this site from:- your mobile phone, if it is Internet-enabled
- your iPhone or Blackberry
- some iPods or MP3 players
- your Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii or other games console, if they have a browser enabled
- some TVs which offer access to the web.
