Anti-litter
We want to make Belfast a cleaner and brighter place to live or visit by encouraging people to dispose of their litter properly.
Our anti-litter campaign is now in its sixth year. Research shows it's had a very positive impact on littering behaviour - in fact, the number of people who admit to dropping rubbish has fallen by almost a fifth.
Don't forget - if you are caught littering, you can be fined £50.
Litter, get a grip
Our current anti-litter campaign focuses on gum and smoking-related litter. On 29 June 2009, our Grime Scene Investigators targeted the 'usual suspects' in a new clampdown on litter caused by chewing gum and cigarette butts.
This latest phase of the campaign is backed up by posters and radio and television ads.
