Investigators, speaking from the scene of the 'grime' in Donegall Square West, reported that
between 80 and 90 per cent of chewing gum is not thrown in bins.
They said that it takes 30 minutes to clean each piece from gum from our streets, meaning it would take around eight weeks to clean all the gum from Royal Avenue!
The team also warned that anyone caught dropping litter on the street faces a £50 fine.
