Activities and programmes
We have begun work on a number of projects aimed at tackling antisocial behaviour (ASB) in our parks and leisure centres.Examples of our work include:
- removing graffiti, cutting back vegetation and shrubbery and erecting new bye-law signs to make our parks look and feel safer
- liaising with friends' groups to identify their needs
- developing activities and programmes together with community, voluntary and friends' groups
- working with our Youth Forum to identify activities for young people
- encouraging local groups to submit proposals for activities and programmes in their local area
- introducing live music into our parks via a series of new initiatives
- developing orienteering programmes in our parks.
Examples
You'll find examples of what we are doing to tackle ASB here:Woodvale Park
We have begun work to clean up Woodvale Park which has been the target of ASB in recent years. This is typical of the work underway across all the sites involved in our Safer Neighbourhood project.
Our 'before and after' pictures below show how our work has progressed.
