Aims and objectives
The Safer Neighbourhood Antisocial Behaviour Programme tackles antisocial behaviour (ASB) like graffiti and vandalism by:
- making our parks, open spaces and leisure centres feel 'safer'
- encouraging you to take ownership of your parks and leisure centres
- reducing the level of vandalism and criminal damage
- working together with communities, local politicians and other agencies such as the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the Housing Executive, Belfast Education and Library Board Youth Services and our community safety team to draw up plans for each site
- gathering co-ordinated information on ASB across Belfast
- developing successful strategies which could be repeated in public spaces across Belfast.
Our ASB co-ordinator works with community and voluntary agencies, friends' and user groups and other organisations relevant to each area affected by the ASB programme.
