Design Out Crime recommendations (for Ormeau Park, Indoor Tennis Centre and Ozone Complex and Cherryvale Playing Fields)

The following recommendations have been made by the Design Out Crime initiative, compiled by the PSNI Crime Prevention Team, for Ormeau Park, Indoor Tennis Centre and Ozone Complex and Cherryvale Playing Fields.

They form part of our action plan for the area:

• put up extra 'no drinking' signs throughout the park especially in shelter areas
• install ten additional litter bins throughout the park
• hand out leaflets to dog owners
• install bollards
• refurbish park keeper's house
• cut back vegetation and trees
• more joined-up working between Park Ranger Service and the Police Service of Northern Ireland
• upgrade and reposition CCTV cameras to look over Indoor Tennis Arena and Ozone Complex car park
• make sure lighting conforms to accepted standards
• install new fencing and gates at Cherryvale Playing Fields (Ravenhill Road end)
• employ extra attendants
• remove the derelict buildings near the park's cricket pavilion.
