Quad bikes and scramblers
As part of the Safer Neighbourhood Antisocial Behaviour Programme, we're encouraging parents to be responsible when buying presents for their children.
This particularly applies to scramblers, quad bikes and go-peds, which can damage land and are noisy and dangerous if not used properly.
It's also against the law to use such vehicles on:
- public roads and footpaths
- parks and other open spaces
- leisure facilities
- housing and industrial estates
- waste ground.
- purpose-built tracks or circuits
- private land where you have permission from the owner.
- be fined if you have no insurance, licence, number plate, lights or helmet
- have penalty points added to your licence and face a fine
- face a conviction for dangerous driving
- be at risk of causing serious injury to yourself or others.
