Belfast Resilience publications

Emergency services workers Belfast Resilience has produced a range of documents to inform the public about our work and how they can be prepared to help themselves before, during and after emergencies.

Examples include:

Community Risk Register

This document is the first assessment of any risks and hazards which could result in a foreseeable serious emergency affecting the Belfast City Council electoral area.

Our Community Risk Register (CRR) has been prepared by our Risk Assessment working group.

It is part of the wider process of preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergencies which may affect Belfast as a 21st century city.

The main purposes of the CRR are:
  • to communicate risk information across all levels and departments of government and the emergency services
  • to give members of the public information about any risks and hazards which could result in a serious emergency affecting the Belfast City Council electoral area and its citizens
  • to help organisations identify stakeholders, clarify their roles and improve co-ordination with other agencies
  • to help organisations allocate resources to high priority hazards.

Recovery Plan

Recovery is defined as 'the process of restoring and rebuilding the community in the aftermath of a major emergency or incident'.

In the event of an emergency, a long-term, complex process with a multi-agency approach would be needed to help with the recovery of individuals and communities.

Our Recovery Plan provides a generic, strategic outline for this recovery process. It also includes a range of specific plans which address particular issues.
The plan has been prepared by our Recovery working group, in consultation with organisations who may be involved in any recovery process.

The plan also has several appendices:
