About our local eateries
Belfast is home to a highly diverse range of eating out options, from high-end dining and award-winning takeaways, to homely cafes and fashionable bistros. Our city also has some of the most dedicated chefs and food heroes, many with award-winning credentials, attracting national media attention and recognition. In 2012, 80 eateries got involved in Belfast Restaurant Week, and over 30 innovative culinary events took place. All of this activity enabled our chefs to showcase their best dishes and gave diners the opportunity to experience the quality and variety of eating out options in the city.
Events included all kinds of tasty treats, such as gourmet nights, storytelling sessions, art and food evenings, tea tastings, chef cook offs and foodie tours. The week was an exciting mix which has increased Belfast’s reputation as a great food destination.
