Wild Belfast events
Discover more about Belfast’s wildlife events in our What’s On guide. All the events listed in the programme are free, unless a charge is stated. Some events require prior booking. Please wear sensible footwear and waterproof gear for outdoor events. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Our Wild Belfast events have something to suit all ages and interests. Activities include:
- discovery mornings
- foraging for food
- wildlife talks
- conservation guided walks
- a spider safari.
Biodiversity Games
We want you to help Belfast go for gold in the Biodiversity Games – the sport of spotting wildlife!The games will take place throughout 2013 and will be themed around the following three areas:
- garden wildlife
- bats
- moths and butterflies.
We are one of 14 councils in Northern Ireland involved in this project, which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Volunteering Opportunities
Try something different and get involved with practical conservation days throughout Belfast with a number of our partner organisations.Tasks include:
- managing woodland
- planting trees
- collecting wildflower seeds
- maintaining wildflower gardens
- clearance of invasive species.
