Brighter Belfast Awards
The Brighter Belfast Environmental Awards recognise and celebrate the people who are working hard to make their local environment a brighter, cleaner and greener place.
No matter how small your efforts seem, they may have made a real difference to our city.
This year’s awards took place at City Hall. The winners are listed below:
Litter Heroes Award winner
Forum for Action on Substance Abuse
Finalists: 81st Belfast Scouts, Glen Parent and Youth Group and Victoria College Belfast.
The Business and the Community Together Award winner
Business in the Community NI
Finalists: Northern Ireland Housing Executive Belfast Regional Office and Rosemount House Ltd.
Green Initiative Award winner
South Belfast Quaker Meeting group
Finalists: Victoria College Belfast, Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Queen's University Belfast.
Nature Conservation Award winner
Belfast Hills Partnership
Finalists: Hosford House East Belfast Mission, Conservation Volunteers, Northern Ireland and Lagan Valley Regional Park.
Education for Change Award winner
Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School
Finalists: Fleming Fulton School, St Joseph's Primary School (Slate Street) and Holy Family Primary School.
Special Judges Awards
The Judges’ special award went to the Council for the Homeless (NI) and the individual award was presented to Eamonn Jordan for his work with Lagan Valley Regional Park.
