Next steps: Advice for programme registered employers

As a registered programme participant, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for agreeing to support our local schools, colleges and young people.

We want to ensure that our young people have as many work-placement opportunities available to them as possible. You will have received a welcome email with a link to the Connect to Success website – this is where you are required to register the work experience opportunities that your business can provide. As an employer, we understand that work experience placements may not always be a viable option, and we are keen to encourage businesses from across the city, in varying sectors, to get involved in any way that they can.

Other opportunities you may wish to offer include:

  1. mock interview experience
  2. on site visit to your business
  3. speaking and presenting opportunities
A careers advisor or teacher will be in touch with your business directly, in relation to your registered student placement.

How you can support your placement student

In order to ensure that you, as an employer, and your work placement student, both get the most from the work placement experience, we have provided some guidance on how best to plan for your student’s arrival.

You can download the document titled, employer guidance, from the link below. We have also included an employer checklist and a post-work experience placement questionnaire.
