Belfast Taxi Bus Service Employment Academy
We’ve teamed up with the Belfast Taxis Community Interest Company (C.I.C) to help them recruit up to 20 taxi bus drivers.
Are you are interested in working as a Belfast taxi bus driver but lack the experience, licences and qualifications? We are running an exciting employment academy that could help you secure a job in the transport industry.
The Belfast Taxi Bus Service Employment Academy (BTBSEA) has been designed to ensure that if you are recruited, you will be supported to overcome any barriers holding you back from attaining employment in this industry.
Who is eligible?
BTBSEA is open to anyone:
- living in the Belfast City Council area
- currently out of work or working less than 16 hours a week, and
- have a clean driving licence for at least three years.
BTBSEA will enable you to gain the skills and qualifications you will need to take up employment with Belfast Taxis CIC.
How to find out more and apply
To apply for the BTBSEA programme, you will need to attend an information session on Thursday 1 February 2018 in An Culturlann at 10am - 4pm.
This information session will provide you with the opportunity to learn about:
- the job roles available
- the aspects of employment
- how to acquire a taxi vehicle and
- how to attain the correct taxi licences.
On the day, there will be an informal interview. Interview times will be allocated following the information session. No need to register beforehand, just come along on the day.
If you are successful at this stage, you will be invited to a further interview to secure a place on the Belfast Taxi Bus Service Employment Academy.
