Eat more fruit and vegetables
Healthy eating is a key part of the Choose n Move programme.
Making sure you include fruit and vegetables in your daily diet is important because:
- they provide your body with important vitamins, such as vitamin C, and minerals
- they help you maintain a healthy weight
- they are good sources of fibre and antioxidants which keep your body healthy
- they help reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke and some cancers
- most fruit and vegetables are naturally low in fat.
Eatwell plate
The Eatwell plate, designed by the Food Standards Agency, helps make healthy eating easy to understand.It shows the types and proportions of foods that make up a healthy, well-balanced diet and the quantities you need from each food group.

Portion sizes
