This information is for youth group leaders who want to use a Choose n Move activity pack to plan a session with young people.
Planning a Choose n Move session
The following tips can help you plan out your session.All games, activity sheets, tasks, feedback forms, diaries and other documents are contained in our Choose n Move activity packs.
- begin by introducing the programme's key messages - eat more fruit and vegetables and be active
- use the games provided to get your group active
- test their knowledge of health and fitness using the activity sheets
- try out some of the tasks, such as fruit identification and tasting
- pick appropriate activities for your group, such as stories or poems
- gather feedback and ask your group to complete evaluation forms
- follow up your session with letters to parents, our Pedometer Challenge or by completing a food diary.
The pack also contains sample programmes for children aged four to seven, eight to 11 and 12 to 16.
