Age-friendly ‘Be Prepared’ information events

Come along to the Super Connected Communities stall at Age-friendly Belfast’s 'Be prepared' information events for free advice on how to help improve your daily living.
We will be hosting IT fix it clinics in partnership with Go On NI, so please be sure to bring along your phone, tablet (e.g. iPad), or laptop. We’ll do our best to get if working for you and show you how to use it to do the things you want to do.

Connect IT intergenerational project

The Connect IT intergenerational project brings generations together to build positive relationships and enable older participants to develop their digital and on-line skills.

With our funding, Linking Generations Northern Ireland  are co-ordinating intergenerational IT projects which link up local older people together with post-primary school children to help older people to:

  • connect more with their communities and families, assisting them in keeping in touch on email, social media and Skype
  • use online services such as shopping, travel, banking and government services, and learn how to avoid scams
  • develop hobbies and interests such as digital photography, and use the internet to find out more about almost every conceivable hobby, and
  • use the devices they might already have (for example smartphones, tablets and laptops) in a practical way.
