Outreach Play Session
Process Art & Messy Play Outreach Sessions
Monday to Friday mornings
We visit voluntary and community groups to provide Process Art and Messy Play sessions, encouraging parents and children to have fun together. Each session lasts between one to one and a half hour, depending on the type of activity and the number taking part. During Process Art sessions, children are given the opportunity to enjoy the process of being creative by using a variety of Art and Craft materials. The main focus is on the experience and not the end product.
Physical Play Outreach Sessions
Thursday mornings (other mornings available upon request)
We visit voluntary and community play groups to provide Physical Play sessions. This is a fun project that guarantees to get the children moving! The aim is to encourage children to be more active in a fun way. It also helps to give staff and volunteers new ideas for games and activities that can be played during their sessions with little or no equipment.
Sensory Outreach Sessions
Monday to Friday Mornings
We visit voluntary and community groups to provide Sensory Play sessions. We create a friendly environment for children and stimulate their five senses using sensory equipment – helping them to develop vocalisation, colour recognition, tracking, gross and fine motor skills. Our sessions are full of fun and we keep them informal, letting children explore the equipment in their own time.
10 Week Outreach Programme
Monday to Friday Mornings
This is a programme which is spread over 10 sessions. We deliver a wide range of activities from painting, messy play physical play loose parts and more. The emphasis of this programme is that we bring the ‘props’ each week and the children choose how they will play with them. We hope we are providing ideas for the group to carry on doing after we leave and also ideas that the parents can easily and cheaply do at home.

Summer Fun & Summer Support
During the summer, Play Service provides support primarily for the voluntary community sector with Play Sessions comprised of Junk Art, Games, Process Art & Messy Play.
In the past few years we also provided numbers of summer schemes in our community and Play Centres, giving over 1,500 children and young people an opportunity to take part in a wide range of activities and day trips, play safely and make new friends.
Each summer, our Play Team delivers two Play Day sessions for hundreds of CYP at Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park as part of the annual Play Day, giving children, parents and communities an opportunity to enjoy playing together.
