Awards for young people not in education, training or employment

Grants of up to £500 are awarded through the Prince's Trust Development Awards. The scheme aims to help recipients who are:

  • aged between 16 and 25
  • living in the Belfast City Council area
  • need help to overcome barriers which may prevent them from undertaking training, education and employment.

What can I use the money for?

You can use the money for the following items:

  • course fees
  • equipment you might need for your course
  • clothing for a job interview
  • books
  • travel
  • childcare.

How have the Development Awards helped young people not in education, training or employment?

So far we’ve helped 367 young people take part in learning, education and employment through the Achieve Prince’s Trust Development Awards.

  • 93% of recipients move into education, training or employment
  • 165 of these young people live in the top 10% most deprived wards in Northern Ireland.
  • Read our Development Awards case studies showing how funding helped two young people back into education.
