Whiterock Community Centre is a fully inclusive centre and is open to the entire community.

It is available for booking by local groups and by other agencies and organisations.

The centre also works within the wider Belfast area and has been involved in university and other research programmes focusing on issues such as children and young people and poverty, transport and older people.

Activities

We offer a range of classes and activities for all the community.

These include:
Monday to Thursday - 2pm to 4.30pm

Aimed at primary school children, this project lends help and support to children doing their homework.
It also offers a wide range of activities and outings and a fresh fruit snack is provided.
The project is managed and run by our community centre staff and volunteers.

Teenagers take part in a cross-community residential at Glebe House Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 7pm to 9pm

Suitable for young people aged 12 to 16, this project offers a wide range of club activities, outings and residentials.
There are also smaller groups looking at key issues such as car crime, drugs and alcohol awareness, bullying and poverty and social exclusion.
Other activities include the Kids Fit Club, community relations work and basketball.
The project is managed and run by our community centre staff and volunteers.

Monday - 7pm to 9pm

Run in partnership with the West Belfast Area Project and Ballymurphy Women’s Group, this
session includes information and discussion groups on a wide range of issues. It is
supported by our centre staff.

Thursday - 7pm to 8.30pm

For primary school children.
This project is supported and run by centre staff and volunteers.

Children aged five to 11 take part in a canoeing course Monday to Friday - 2pm to 4.30pm

A series of recreational activities for primary school children.

This project in the Upper Springfield area is run in partnership with the Upper Springfield Development Trust.
Meetings are held in Whiterock Community Centre, which is also available for related programmes.

This new forum brings together all the youth providers in the Upper Springfield area to co-ordinate and
shape the direction of youth provision in the area.

Benefits Advice Day for older people at Whiterock Community Centre Thursday - 11am to 2pm

Includes lunch, bingo, outings and other activities and ideal for all senior citizens living in the Upper Springfield
area. The club is managed and run by centre staff, together with the older people themselves.

Monday to Friday - 9.30am to 1pm

This community day centre project is managed and staffed by the North and West Belfast Trust.
It is supported by centre staff.


Sunday - 2pm to 4pm and Monday - 7pm to 9pm

Suitable for disabled children and adults. Includes club activities and outings.

Monday and Friday - 7pm to 8.30pm

For children aged four and above.
Wednesday and Friday - 7pm to 9pm

For children and young people to competition level.

Thursday - 7pm to 10pm

Award-winning dance troupe for children and young people.
Tuesday - 7pm to 8.30pm
Suitable for children aged five to 11 and 12 to 16, regardless of ability.
Instruction is available in guitar, keyboards, drums and reading music.
