What is community planning?

Community planning is the process that councils, other public sector organisations, businesses and voluntary and community groups take to work together with local communities to plan and deliver local services, which can make a difference to people's lives.

The NI Executive will be reforming Local Government as part of Local Government Reform. Community planning is a key aspect of the reform, and it will be introduced as a new duty for each council . This will change the way that councils and other organisation engage with local communities.
