Safer Belfast CCTV
Through the Safer Belfast CCTV project, we’re working to improve community safety in the area around Queen's University in south Belfast, as part of our Safer Belfast plan. The scheme targets areas which have been affected by antisocial behaviour, alcohol-fuelled violent crime and hate crime.
It aims to reduce people’s fear of such crimes by setting up CCTV cameras in designated spots.
The cameras, managed by the council, are monitored at Musgrave Street police station (24 hours per day, seven days per week) and any information recorded is managed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
