Community safety is about working together to reduce crime, the fear of crime and antisocial behaviour.Community safety projects we are involved in:
Young People`s Awards Scheme These awards are a great opportunity to recognise and reward young people for their contribution to their local area.
Crime prevention Belfast Community Safety Partnership have produced crime prevention information, about bogus callers, hate crime and internet safety.
Alley-gating schemeResidents have seen a reduction in antisocial behaviour, burglaries and fear of crime since their alley-gates were installed.
Underage drinking Working with the police we`ve launched an awareness campaign
to tackle the illegal supply of alcohol to children and young people.
Neighbourhood Watch Scheme Neighbourhood Watch is a partnership between the police and local communities.
It aims to help people protect themselves and their property.
Bonfire Management Programme Working with the local community we want to make bonfires safer.
We also hope to make them an event for all the family.
Get Home Safe scheme This scheme aims to reduce alcohol related violence and antisocial behaviour in the city centre.
Roaming safety wardens We have community safety roaming wardens who respond to problems like antisocial behaviour.
Safe seniors We`re working with Belfast Community Safety Partnership to tackle problems associated with crime, antisocial behaviour and fear of crime in Belfast.
Operation cleanup of cars This scheme removes run-around vehicles from the streets of Belfast.
We lift up to 15 run-around vehicles each day from the Belfast area.
Safer Neighbourhood Antisocial Behaviour ProgrammeAntisocial behaviour in our parks and leisure properties costs millions of pounds each year.
It includes drinking in public, graffiti, vandalism and threatening behaviour.
