'No Smoke Without Litter' initiative

We are running an initiative ‘No Smoke without Litter’ to support businesses in their efforts to keep their premises free from smoking related litter.

The aim of this initiative is to reduce the amount of litter from smoking that is discarded outside business premises. We provide an information pack which offers help and advice to local businesses and also provides good practice guidelines regarding the role businesses have, in ensuring that their employees and the general public properly dispose of their smoking-related litter.

Businesses can also sign up to the Tidy Business Charter, they will then receive a free ‘cleanup toolkit’ which contains a box of portable ashtrays, anti-litter posters and dustpan and brush. A certificate stating that the company has signed up to our tidy business code of conduct will also be given.

Our research shows that 75% of the streets in Belfast are affected by this type of litter. We hope this initiative will have a positive impact on reducing this figure.

If your business would like to receive a No Smoke without Litter pack or sign up to the Tidy Business Charter or for further information please contact:
