Schools Cross-Country event

Children and an athlete from Springwell Running Club prepare to take part in the Schools Cross-Country event Each year, we invite primary and secondary school pupils to take part in the Belfast Schools Cross-Country event.

We work with the Belfast Education and Library Board to host the event, which gives pupils the chance to compete against each other to win the Belfast Schools Cross-Country Cup and go on to represent the city at the Northern Ireland Schools Cross-Country Final.


Entries for the 2010 Schools Cross-Country event have now closed.

2010 results

Regional heats

Four cross-country heats took place in various locations throughout February and March 2010.

The first four teams and first three individuals (if not a member of the first four teams) in each race qualified for the Belfast Schools Cross-Country final, which took place in Ormeau Park on Monday 15 March 2010.

The city-wide final took place in Ormeau Park on Monday 15 March. Primary and secondary school finalists took part in the event.
