Creative Legacies
Our Creative Legacies programme uses arts and culture to inspire projects, influenced by our city's history. The programme aims to help communities to develop shared cultural spaces and a sense of belonging to an open, welcoming and vibrant city.

Current projects
Our Creative Legacies Forum has helped shape the second phase of the programme. The second phase will increase partnerships and shared working practices at a forum level. This includes training and marketing.Creative Legacies promotes equality of access to arts and culture, and ties in with physical regeneration of the city. It encourages community ownership and attendance at new flagship cultural spaces.
Tender for development and outreach projects
In autumn 2012 we sought proposals from arts, heritage and community organisations to deliver enhanced development and outreach projects in 2013. 11 Creative Legacies II projects will be delivered, with a total investment of £176,000.We'll provide further details in February.
Research
Our research into the impact of arts in local communities found that Creative Legacies had improved participants' self esteem and ability to build relationships and it offered them a valuable way to learn their community and other cultures and values.- Download our report on the impact of community arts on communities and community development in Belfast.
