Development and Outreach Initiative
Our Development and Outreach Initiative aims to increase community participation and access to culture and arts activity in Belfast, as well as building capacity and boosting cultural activity in communities with weak cultural infrastructures.We are investing £165,000 in the 2012 - 2013 initiative.
Collaborative partnerships of community organisations and arts or heritage organisations can apply.
There must be a lead applicant, working in partnership with a minimum of two and a maximum of five other organisations.

Funding information sessions
We will be running funding information sessions, in partnership with Community Arts Partnership (one of our multi-annually funded organisations), at various venues across the Belfast. These are open sessions and you do not have to book a place.The Community Arts Partnership will be on hand to give advice on best practice within partnership projects and practical advice to communities considering making an application to the Development and Outreach Initiative.

2010 - 2011 funding
In 2010-11, we invested £153,430 in 12 Development and Outreach projects, providing opportunities for over 50,000 people to participate in and benefit from cultural experiences in the city.The average grant was £12,785.83 and the initiative helped to support 56 full-time jobs, 31 part-time jobs, and 270 freelance jobs, as well as 196 volunteering opportunities.
All of the cultural projects took place in areas of deprivation, or with disabled groups in Belfast.
