Fixed penalty notices
Fixed penalties can be issued for a number of offences. These include:The dog was kept by you and:
- you didn't have a valid licence for your dog
- the dog wasn't wearing a collar with the name and address of the keeper inscribed in it or on a plate or badge attached to it
- the dog was not wearing valid identification attached to the dog's collar.
- was straying
- was in a road where there is an order under Article 77 of the Planning (NI) Order 1972
- was on land where livestock were present
- was a greyhound in a public place and was not controlled or muzzled
- was one of more than two greyhounds being exercised or led by one person in a public place.
- you failed to notify us that you transferred ownership or intended to transfer ownership
- you contravened any control condition.
You can also be issued with a £50 fixed penalty notice if you allow your dog to foul in a public place and fail to clean up after it.
Paying a fixed penalty notice
You can pay your fixed penalty notice with a cheque or money order by post. Please make cheques or money orders payable to the Director of Health and Environmental Services and send them to the address below.You can also pay your fixed penalty notice with cash, cheque or by money order in person at our public office at the address below.

You will need to make sure that the slip at the bottom of the fixed penalty notice (bearing the serial number of the notice) accompanies your payment.
