Fixed penalty notices

Fixed penalties can be issued for a number of offences. These include:

The dog was kept by you and:
The dog was kept by you or was in your charge and the dog: The dog was kept by you or in your charge and is subject to control conditions and: The fixed penalty notices for each of the offences listed above is £80 and you must pay this within 28 days from the date of issue. However, if you pay the fixed penalty notice within 14 days from the date of issue there is a concession for prompt payment which is £50.

You can also be issued with a £50 fixed penalty notice if you allow your dog to foul in a public place and fail to clean up after it.

Paying a fixed penalty notice

You can pay your fixed penalty notice with a cheque or money order by post. Please make cheques or money orders payable to the Director of Health and Environmental Services and send them to the address below.

You can also pay your fixed penalty notice with cash, cheque or by money order in person at our public office at the address below.

You will need to make sure that the slip at the bottom of the fixed penalty notice (bearing the serial number of the notice) accompanies your payment.
