Irish Sea Region Partnership

The Irish Sea provides an important link between the Island of Ireland, Isle of Man and UK. A main initiative working within this area is the Irish Sea Region Partnership group.

This group is made up of all areas which border the Irish Sea:
The group addresses some of the unique issues faced by the region. This includes the challenges of tourism, fishing, energy consumption, port use and increased urbanisation.

We’re currently working with partners such as the North West Development Agency, 4 North West in England, the Dublin Regional Authority and Isle of Man Government to raise the profile of the Irish Sea with the aim of gaining recognition of the area as a European region.

The Irish Sea is a common resource to many people and it is important that Belfast and the surrounding areas work together to address common issues and find solutions.
