A guided walk around the 500+ trees in the Botanic Gardens. Learn to recognise them without the visual clues of summer, starting with the conifers – the sequoias, the pines, the recently discovered Wollemia and many others from around the world. We will collect samples of deciduous trees that can be identified from their winter twigs and bark, and examine these in more detail in the warmth of the Bowling Pavilion where we can make use of lenses and tree identification books.
We also have a winter tree tail in Botanic Gardens on Monday 18 February.
