Belfast Exposed is Northern Ireland’s principal gallery of contemporary photography, commissioning, publishing and showing work by artists and photographers from Northern Ireland and across the world.

They are running practical training courses enabling students to develop and grow as photographers. It doesn’t matter whether you're a beginner or an expert at photography, everyone is welcome to come! These are the training courses available over the next few months:

Using Your Digital Camera

Saturday 28 October 
4, 11 and 18 November

Sat, 2pm – 5pm 23 Donegall Street, Belfast  This course will enable you to apply both practical and theoretical knowledge to help you use a digital camera effectively and creatively.
Portrait Photography Saturday 4, 11 and 18 November Sat, 10am – 1pm 23 Donegall Street, Belfast This course will teach you clever ways of how to create professional lighting set ups confidently and correctly compose a portrait to portray the subject's life and personality.
Focus On: Lightroom Intermediate Wednesday 15 November Wed, 6pm – 9pm 23 Donegall Street, Belfast This intermediate course is designed to take your lightroom knowledge to the next level and uncover the mystery of lightroom catalogues, collections and rating for archiving your images. 
Wet Plate Collodion Saturday 25 November Sat, 11am – 5pm 23 Donegall Street, Belfast This one day intensive workshop will teach you the photography process of creating images on glass or metal plates. Each participant will shoot and process their own, unique ambrotypes, from start to finish. 
Let Us Eat Cake Friday 27 October – Saturday 2 December Tues – Sat, 11am – 5pm 23 Donegall Street, Belfast This group exhibition presents a new project created by artist Anthony Luvera and seven LGBTQ participants to create a project that celebrates the queer communities of Northern Ireland.
