Employee mental health and wellbeing – an expense or an investment?

Date: 10 Oct 2018
Time: 8.30am – 10.30am
Venue: Malone House, Barnett Demesne, Belfast BT9 5PB

We’re working in partnership with Ulster Bank and Moment Health to discuss the topic of ‘is it good for business to look after the wellbeing of its employees - is it an expense or an investment?’

With 1 in 25 new mothers leaving their jobs due to mental health problems and 10 per cent of men suffering from antenatal anxiety, there has never been a more critical time to support female and male employees with their mental wellbeing.

This statistic is grave enough on its own, but when we take into account that the main reason for them not returning is lack of support from their employer, it’s time for us to try and get past the stigma and put solutions in place to ensure our bottom line is protected.

If you’re a business owner, people manager or mental health champion and would like to hear the discussion on why it’s good for business to look after their employees’ health and wellbeing, then join industry professionals from KPMG, Ulster Bank, Belfast City Council, People Plus NI, Nuala Murphy from Moment Health and the Lord Mayor, Deirdre Hargey who will be highlighting the importance of the investment in employee health and wellbeing, breaking the stigma and putting practical solutions in place.
