No - generally, the cost of a grave is much higher than the fee for cremation and funeral director charges are much the same for both services.

The only extra charge for cremation is for two independent medical doctors to fill out the forms necessary for a cremation, unless the death has been referred to a coroner.

There are no extra costs for headstones or grave care with a cremation, unless the cremated remains are buried in a grave.
