Good Relations Strategy

Our Good Relations Strategy outlines: The 'Building our Future Together' strategy document is the product of an intensive period of work involved in drawing up the strategy. Councillors worked together to produce the document and all political parties supported it.

The councillors were supported in this work by officers from all Departments and in the later stages by the external members who were invited to join our expanded Good Relations Steering Panel - from the churches, the trades unions, the business sector and the Community Relations Council.

Our strategy sets out our vision for a stable, tolerant, fair and pluralist City, where individuality is respected and diversity is celebrated, in an inclusive manner. It emphasises our commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and interdependence and our promise that these will be mainstreamed into all our activities - our policies, our structures and our procedures.
