Here are some suggestions for healthy lunchbox snacks:
add a spoonful of natural yoghurt to stewed fruit or sprinkle some rolled oats and seeds on the top
swap cakes, chocolates and biscuits for scones, currant buns (without icing), unfrosted strawberry or blueberry Pop Tarts or fruit bread
add a slice of cheese, a low-fat rice pudding or a yoghurt to your child's lunchbox to make sure they get enough calcium. Choose yoghurts without packets of stir-in confectionery.
avoid cereal bars as they can contain more than 40 per cent sugar and 30 per cent fat. The sugar can also stick to your teeth, causing dental decay.
