Bank Buildings Fire Information
Castle Junction has now been reopened following further reduction of the safety cordon around Bank Buildings.
Pedestrian access between Donegall Place and Royal Avenue has also been fully restored, and the roads reopened to traffic.
All businesses affected by the Primark fire have reopened (with the exception of City Picnic on Castle Street).
Construction work is continuing at Bank Buildings but the façade retention scheme in place means that the cordon can be safely reduced. The temporary yellow shipping containers are remaining.
Bank Street will remain closed as building work continues.
City centre entertainment
There’s lots going on in the city centre over the coming months including a new pop-up park at Buoy Park in the Cathedral Quarter, and a programme of activities based around food and music at Bank Square.
We’ll also be celebrating Belfast in Bloom with three special feature display gardens at City Hall this summer.
