Ireland with 19% of jobs in
the city in the retail sector
and a primary catchment
population of 1.8 million,
both in Northern Ireland and
also including parts of the
Republic of Ireland.
There are
930 retail outlets in Belfast’s
prime retail area (99 in
Victoria Square), an increase
of 65% since 2006.

million Victoria Square in
March 2008 marked a new

and now makes up 20%
of the total retail space

Fraser, Apple, Cruise, Hugo
Boss, Urban Outfitters and
Tommy Hilfiger have added
a new dimension to the
shopping experience
in Belfast.
Lisburn Road
In the south of the city,
the Lisburn Road has been
described as Belfast’s ‘style
mile’, with many designer
brands on offer in a wide
range of unique boutiques
alongside numerous cafes,
restaurants, galleries and spas.
Bloomfield Avenue
In the east of the
city, Bloomfield Avenue is
full of boutiques, cafes and
beauty salons to tempt locals
and visitors away from the
city centre.
