Orangefield Park and Victoria Park are open 24/7. The rest of our parks open at 7.30am and close at the following times throughout the year.
If a park contains a 3G pitch, its gates may remain open while the pitches are booked for play. Users must leave the park promptly after play finishes on the 3G pitches as the park gates will be locked within 15 minutes.

Award nomination
Alexandra Park Steering Group was shortlisted for Best Community Project award at the Belfast Telegraph Making a Difference Awards 2012. We teamed up with with the Steering Group and Groundwork NI to open the existing Peace Gate in the park in September 2011. ERDF’s Peace III Programme awarded £50,000 towards the project. Alexandra Park was thought to be the only park in Western Europe with a wall dividing it into two parts. The Alexandra Park Steering Group has worked with local residents and representative groups over the past three years to promote the use and regeneration of the park, helping to make it safer with improved access.
Other attractions
The park is particularly popular with wildlife enthusiasts and is home to a variety of water birds and other species including the dipper, a bird normally found in fast-flowing mountain rivers and regularly seen alongside the Milewater Stream in the park. Other popular birds you can spot include mallards, tufted ducks and other water birds. The area's lower glen, which runs down towards Deacon Street, provides great views across Belfast
