Civil weddings in Registrar's office (Belfast City Hall)

You can get married in our Ceremony Room, located in the Registrar's office in Belfast City Hall.

We have a number of registrars available to perform ceremonies and can cater for up to six weddings per day (Monday to Saturday only). Ceremonies can be at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm (10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm on Saturdays and bank holidays).

Viewings

Our Ceremony Room is open for viewing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 9.30am.

We can only hold a maximum of 70 people in the room due to fire regulations. This includes the couple, their witnesses, any photography professionals, musicians, children and the Registrar.

The gallery below shows the room. You need to have Adobe Flash Player 10 installed on your computer to view the gallery. Press the 'play' button to view the photos.

Available dates

If you want to get married in a year's time or longer, you can make a provisional booking. Easter to October is our busiest season and Fridays and Saturdays are very popular days. Bookings can be taken up to two years in advance.

If you want a date within the next 12 months, you can also make a definite booking, subject to availability.

Fees

The following prices apply to civil weddings in the Registrar's office. Fees should be paid before your ceremony, when you return your marriage notice forms.
