About the initiative
Our Evening Economy initiative is all about ensuring that our citizens and visitors from around the world can enjoy our vibrant and dynamic city after 5pm.We want to ensure that the city has a range of services and attractions that appeal to both young people and old.
We are working with many organisations throughout the city, including Belfast City Centre Management and Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau, to develop evening activities and promotions to increase footfall, profitability and vibrancy in the evening.
Tourist destination
Belfast is a growing tourist destination attracting a record breaking 7.1 million in 2008 These visitors injected generated £437 million for Belfast and benefiting the entire Northern Ireland economy.- Find out more about Belfast tourism facts and figures
Main aims of our campaign
The main aims of the Evening Economy More Time campaign are to:- increase trade in shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and private businesses
- drive and increase footfall in Belfast City Centre between 5pm and 8pm
- increase the attractiveness and vibrancy of the city centre
- create a pleasurable city centre experience for visitors and locals
- ensure that Belfast continues to develop into a vibrant cosmopolitan European city.
Belfast City Ezine
