Park visitors are to be given the pleasure of listening to the music of more than 70 bands as Belfast City Council`s annual Music in the Parks event gets underway.
Whatever your preference, smooth, mellow, brass, pipe or accordion there will be music to suit all tastes. Participating parks include Falls, Botanic Gardens, Ormeau, Woodvale, Victoria, Waterworks, Musgrave and Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon.
The music begins with the Festival of Champions Band Concert at Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park on Sunday, 13 May. The bands performing between 2pm-5pm are Ormeau Concert Band, Blaris Accordion Orchestra, Ballylone Flute Band and the First Old Boys` Silver Band.
Rose Week, 16-22 July, will see 21 different performances, ranging from harp music and swing, to salsa, jazz, blues and pop.

Music in the Parks concludes on Sunday, 16 September with a Grand Finale Concert in Botanic Gardens as part of the Autumn Fair event.
