Odyssey Arena set to screen Heineken Cup Final

Odyssey Arena has announced that they will be opening their doors to 4,000 lucky Ulster Rugby fans to screen the Heineken Cup Final.

Ulster Rugby has waited 13 years to reach this prestigious final again and with the scarcity of tickets available, the Odyssey Trust, in conjunction with Belfast City Council has decided to turn the venue into our very own Twickenham and will be showing the final live in the Arena free of charge.

The game will be shown on a 60x20 foot screen equipped with the latest technology. This is a family fun day out for rugby fans not to be missed.

The Lord Mayor or Belfast, Councillor Niall Ó Donnghaile, hailed the screening as a great way to end a family fun day out.

“Belfast City Council is delighted to be associated with the screening of the Heineken Cup Final at the Odyssey giving local rugby fans a great opportunity to soak up the atmosphere in such a great venue,” he said.

“Earlier that afternoon we will have a full programme of activities on the front lawns of City Hall to mark the unveiling of the Olympic Rings, so what a great day for a family outing.”

Adrian Doyle, General Manager of the Odyssey Arena, said: “We are delighted to be able to screen the Heineken Cup Final at the Arena with the support of Odyssey Trust Company and Belfast City Council. There will be many activities happening in and around the Odyssey Pavilion on the day and it is sure to be a family sporting day extravaganza. We encourage families to attend for a great day out at no cost! We would like to wish the Ulster Rugby team every success for the final on Saturday 19th May.”

Not only will the Odyssey Arena be screening the game there will be plenty of other activities and fun in and around the Odyssey complex.

Doors to the Arena will open from 3:30pm with kick off at 5pm.

FREE Tickets are available to collect from Odyssey Arena Box Office this Saturday 12th May at 10am (limited to 6 per person, subject to availability).
