Opportunities for suppliers and sponsors at 2013 WPFGs

2013 World Police and Fire Games Ltd would like to invite potential suppliers and sponsors to express their interest in providing products, equipment and services for the international sporting event on August 2013.

The Games, which will take place from 1-10 August 2013, will be the largest ever sporting event to be staged in Northern Ireland with an estimated 10,000 competitors and 15,000 friends and family from around 70 countries expected to attend.

A free information event for potential suppliers and sponsors has been organised by Belfast City Council on behalf of WPFG on Friday 1 June in the Group Space of the Ulster Hall (9.30am-11.30am).

WPFG will give a short presentation about the Games and a general overview of the products and services required. Partnership opportunities include the supply of a wide range of equipment, as well as providing for transportation needs such as coaches, buses, taxis and cars as well as the supply of flights by airlines.

Catering will also be an important aspect of the Games and partners are being sought to provide food, water/soft drinks, energy drinks, beverages and general catering assistance. On the technical side the Games require a telecommunications partner as well as experts in IT and general technical support. Graphic design, print management, video expertise, electronic communications support and logistic assistance are all also required.

Professional assistance with regard to legal and medical services is also an important requirement whilst a specialist events and equipment partner will be needed to co-ordinate a large number of events to help promote the Games.

Registration is essential for the event on Friday 1 June and places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. If you wish to attend please RSVP to economicdevelopment@belfastcity.gov.uk by Wednesday 30 May.

John Tully, WPFG 2013 Chief Executive, said: “The Games is a truly massive international event and will be the largest ever sporting event to be staged in this country. We are expecting 10,000 competitors competing in around 65 sports as well as an additional 15,000 supporting friends and family. As a result we require a vast spectrum of products, equipment and services from now and building up until the last visitors leave in mid August next year.

"The Games provide local companies with an excellent opportunity to be aligned with an event of international status bringing both promotional and commercial benefits. So whether a company is interested in becoming a partner of the Games through sponsorship, as a commercial supplier or indeed a combination of both, we would urge them to register their interest with eSourcingNI by Friday 8 June 2012.”
