Movie star Herbie to guest at motor show
27 February 2006
One of the world`s best loved movie stars is to make a special appearance in Belfast this weekend.
`Herbie’, the hero of a string of hit Disney movies, will be one of the star attractions at Northern Ireland`s first Classic Vehicles and Models Show, which is being held in St. George`s Market on Sunday (March 5).
The exhibition also will feature the oldest known Austin in the world, built in 1907, a 1981 DeLorean DMC, a 1959-vintage Jaguar XK150 and a 1949 MG, as well as classic and racing motorcycles.
The Classic Vehicle and Models Show will bring together some of the top classic cars and motorcycles from the 3,000 strong membership of the Association of Old Vehicles Clubs in Northern Ireland, as well as a number of overseas exhibitors.
Alongside the full size attractions, professional remote control car drivers will be demonstrating their skills on our indoor circuit – and visitors will also be able to join in the fun, by bringing along and racing their own remote control cars on the pro-circuit, or have a go with the `professional’ cars on a special `novice’ circuit.
The Classic Vehicles and Models Show takes place at St. George`s Market this Sunday afternoon (March 5). Doors open from 1pm - 6pm and admission is £5 for adults and £3 for under 16`s and students.
