Belfast Parks Photographic Competition 2013

Our annual Belfast Parks Photographic Competition offers you the chance to win a share of £1,000.This year’s competition is sponsored by John McQuillan (Contracts) Ltd.

An awards ceremony for the winning entrants will take place in summer 2013.

All you have to do is take a photo in one of our parks or open spaces, making sure it relates to one of the following categories: View a list of our parks
View prizes
View the 2012 winners and their photographs

How to enter

This competition is open to everyone, except professional photographers. Photographs must have been taken after June 2012 from an area of the park available to the public. We cannot accept photographs which have won prizes in other external competitions or previous entries to this competition.

You can only enter one category, but you may submit up to three photos in your chosen category.

You must read our terms and conditions, before submitting your photos. The closing date for entries is Friday 17 May. There are two ways to submit your entries:

Hard copy

Fill in the entry form below and submit, together with three colour prints, up to a maximum size of 8'' x 6'' unmounted, and the same photographs in a digital format (CD, DVD or memory device). Prints, CDs, DVDs and memory devices cannot be returned. Please write the following information on the back of each photo: Send your entries to:

Fill in the entry form below, and email it, along with your three entries, to parklife@belfastcity.gov.uk Entries must be in a JPEG format. The size of your email should not exceed 5MB - if your images are larger than this, please send them in separate emails, together with your full name and entry number in the subject line, for example, John Smith - entry 1. You should attach your entry form with your first email, if sending entries separately.

Prizes

There are prizes for the best photos received in each category - first prize (£150), second prize (£100) and third prize (£50). There are also special prizes for the best photos submitted by under 16s - first prize (£50), second prize (£30) and third prize (£20).
