Park events in July 2013
You'll find details of all events taking place in our parks in July 2013 here.Highlights include:
- seasonal bedding displays in Falls Park and Grovelands
- herbaceous perennials in Botanic Gardens, Ormeau Park, Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park and Grovelands
- annual Rose Week celebrations in Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park
- live music as our Music in the Parks programme continues
- Summer Fun Days in various parks throughout Belfast, providing activities and entertainment for children aged five to 12.

| Friday 19 - Sunday 21 July | 10.30am - 3.30pm | Native species and red squirrel fun day | Belfast Zoo | Come along and see what we and our partners are doing for our local native species and learn more about local wildlife, including the red squirrel. |
| Saturday 20 July | 10am - 1pm | Cave Hill walks - History | Belfast Castle |
Cormac Hamill will lead a walk over the top and will describe some of the interesting background to various hill features. |
| Monday 22 - Friday 26 July | Mobile Team Adventure Summer Scheme | Shaw's Bridge | Lots of fun for children aged 7 to 16 including rock climbing, canoeing, gorge walking, archery, river tubing and lots more. |

Have you ever wondered what the animals get up to after closing time? Why not come along and find out with this special behind the scenes tour of the zoo, with our keepers.A barbeque dinner will also be provided. Tickets are limited and must be bought beforehand. | Monday 29 July - Wednesday 31 July | 9.30am - 3.30pm | Summer School | Belfast Zoo | Children aged seven to nine can come along to learn more about our animals with the education team, zoo keepers and the zoo vet.Places are limited, so you must book beforehand. Tickets cost £100 for the week. |
| Tuesday 30 July | Vintage car rally | Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park | Come along to the park to see the Banbridge Old Vehicle Club vintage Car Rally. |

| Wednesday 31 July | 6.45pm - 7.30pm | WEE (Wednesday evening event) series | Belmont Park | This introductory orienteering event has a short course suitable for all the family and a longer course for those up for a challenge. Enjoy a walk or a run around the park using a map to find the markers. Electronic punching will allow you to see how long you took and have fun comparing it with others. No previous experience required. |
