Mountain biking routes
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded funding of almost £167,000 to develop off-road mountain bike trails in Belfast.
Funding has already been secured through the Rural Development Programme in partnership with Countryside Access and Activities Network (CAAN). The aim of the project is to create an outstanding recreational facility for local and national mountain bikers.
The project will see the development of 10km of trails and associated jump and skills area in the land between Barnett Demesne and the Mary Peters Track. An experienced Trail Designer has been appointed and preliminary work on the trail has already begun.
Additional funding is being sought by Sport Northern Ireland.
