Parkrun
Are you a keen walker or jogger? Then Parkrun, a free 5km (three miles) timed walk, jog or run, open to all ages and abilities, may be for you.It takes place in two of our parks:
-
Waterworks in north Belfast - every Saturday at 9.30am in association with North Belfast Harriers. This run now regularly attracts more than 180 runners each week.
- Victoria Park in east Belfast - every Saturday at 9am in association with Orangegrove Athletics. This run has only started, but is already gaining momentum!
The aim of the project is to encourage people living nearby to use their local park and eventually build up a range of volunteers who will help to deliver Parkrun every week.
Parkrun is organised by the council, together with local sports clubs and Sport Northern Ireland.
