Plants and gardens

A key part of our job involves looking after trees and plants within our parks and making sure our green spaces are kept in good condition.

We manage three allotment sites and also maintain several gardens throughout the city, which are open to the public.

These include:

Palm House and Tropical Ravine in Botanic Gardens
City of Belfast International Rose Garden and international camellia trials in Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park
arboretum and daffodil garden in Barnett Demesne.

We are also responsible for urban forestry and landscape planning and run the successful
Forest of Belfast programme.
