Level 4 corridor, Royal Victoria HospitalCommissioner:
The Royal Hospitals’ Trust
This is one of seven images by Michael Minnis which take as their starting point the dichotomy between inside and outside. The work is formed by a series of photo silk screened, glass enamelled panels which have been inserted into the seven-storey streets of the Royal Victoria Hospital. The images connect the fabric of the hospital and city and also function as a form of pictorial sign-posting from floor to floor.
Michael Minnis was born in Belfast and was awarded an MA in Fine Art from the University of Ulster in 1989. He works in a variety of media including painting, photography and video. He has exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently in a one person exhibition at LCAG, Limerick.
